A note about party bags
A note about party bags...
No party is complete without a party bag. This tradition most probably started as a wedding tradition in Malta where the bride and groom gives gifts to all the guests at their wedding and then changed over the years to becoming today’s tradition of guests at children’s parties being given a party gift or bag when they leave the party.
So what do you put in? How much should you spend? Last year Tesco reported that the average parent in the UK spends over £7 per party bag. That’s a whopping amount to spend on party bags especially when faced with providing party bags for a whole class party of 30+ children. If you are hiring an entertainer ask them if they can provide party bags or call a local entertainer and ask if they do a local party bag delivery service – often these will be much cheaper, have a good range of gifts and will be made up for you (saving you so much time!).
If you are not hiring an entertainer or would like a change what about buying each guest a plain white t-shirt and ironing on a transfer that can easily be made using an iron on transfer printed with a favourite character? Or painting a plain mug at the party to take home, lots of materials are available from Hobbycraft and Baker Ross.
I have often found that it’s not about receiving a bag of rocket fuel sweets but a personal gift can be used again and help guests to remember your child’s special day.
